World Science Festival Brisbane Returns to Toowoomba

World Science Festival Brisbane regional program will bring science to life for Toowoomba residents on Friday 22 †Saturday 23 March following the 2019 program announcement recently.

For two days Cobb+Co Museum will be turned into a
science playground where visitors will be able to meet a range of top scientists, learn about cool jobs of the future, explore the art of flying and enjoy a number of FREE events at the family friendly Street Science.

Minister for Science and Minister for the Arts Leeanne Enoch is encouraging Darling Downs locals to mark their calendars. “Toowoomba has fully embraced World Science Festival Brisbane as one of the world’s most engaging, exciting and educational science events ever to be held on our doorstep,”Minister Enoch said.

“Last year the festival attracted more than 200,000 people and delivered more than 100 events across six locations †Gladstone, Chinchilla, Toowoomba, Ipswich, Brisbane and Townsville.”

“The World Science Festival Brisbane continues to grow in Toowoomba, and last year more than 1000 people, including over 100 students attended the programs, which is fantastic.The Queensland Government is proud to be supporting the World Science Festival Brisbane in 2019 as it once again connects Queenslanders to science,” Minister Enoch said.

Queensland Museum Network’s CEO Dr Jim Thompson said the Regional Program offers a stellar line up of shows and presenters talking all things space, medical science, and jobs of the future.

“Science is always evolving and by taking it out of the lab into public spaces is a great way to share the latest discoveries and advancements that will impact our lives,” Dr Thompson said.


“We are looking forward to taking the show on the road to Toowoomba and I encourage everyone to come along and discover the wonder and excitement of science at Cobb+Co Museum thanks to the World Science Festival Brisbane regional program.”
