Toowoomba Relay For Life

Goal to see 50 teams registered by Saturday

Toowoomba Relay For Life is only five weeks away, and the committee would like to see 50 teams registered by the end of this week. The committee and I are really looking forward to seeing 50 teams register by the end of this week,” said Miss Kenyon, Relay For Life Co-ordinator for Cancer Council Queensland. “30 teams have currently registered and we’d like to see 100 teams participate in this years Relay For Life.”

To aid participants not familiar with registration or wanting more information the committee is holding a Registration Assistance Day at The Ridge Shopping Centre, outside Woolworths, this Saturday February 6. “This registration assistance day gives the community a chance to register their team and ask questions face to face”.

Relay For Life is a fun, outdoor fundraising event where teams of 10 – 15 people take turns to walk/run around an oval while celebrating local Survivors, remembering those lost and fighting back against cancer. Locals are encouraged to pitch a tent, camp overnight and enjoy the community atmosphere.

The Toowoomba Relay For Life will be held March 13-14 2010 at the Clive Berghofer Events and Recreation Centre – Toowoomba Showgrounds. Teams can register by calling 1300 65 65 85, online at www.relayforlife.org.au or by visiting the committee this Saturday at The Ridge Shopping Centre.
