Special Incentive For Toowoomba Women To Have a Breastscreen This Christmas

Every woman who attends BreastScreen Queensland Toowoomba Service for a breastscreen this December until Thursday 22nd December 2011 will have their name put into a draw to win a wonderful Christmas Hamper donated by the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation.

BreastScreen Queensland Toowoomba Services Health Promotion Officer Jessica Hobbs said “Leading up to Christmas women are usually very busy and this is a positive way to ensure they remember their breastscreen. Our aim is to increase breastscreen awareness and in turn increase the number of women having a free breastscreen every two years.”

The Foundation have put together a wonderful Christmas hamper filled with loads of Christmas fare and goodies which will make one of our clients very happy,” Ms Hobbs said.

One in eight Queensland women will develop breast cancer at some point in their life. A breastscreen every two years is strongly recommended for women aged 50-69 years as 70% of breast cancer occurs in this age group,” she said. However we do encourage all women over the age of 40 and 70 years to have a free breastscreen.”

BreastScreen Queensland is located at Toowoomba Hospital and offers FREE breastscreening Monday to Friday with after hour’s appointments available on selected days. Phone 13 20 50 now to book your FREE breastscreen.
