Search For Missing Man, Maidenwell

Police have recovered the body of a man missing near Maidenwell.

Officers were called to the Coomba Falls around 2.15pm on Sunday after a man at the waterhole jumped from a rock into the water and failed to resurface. A preliminary search by nearby swimmers and police and other emergency services on the Sunday afternoon failed to locate the man.

Police guarded the scene overnight and resumed the search on Monday morning.

Specialist dive squad police from Brisbane arrived at Coomba Falls around 10am and recovered the body of a young Highfields man.
