Federal LNP Member for Maranoa Bruce Scott is encouraging people across Maranoa to take one minute on Thursday, November 11 to pay tribute to Australia’s fallen servicemen and women.
Mr Scott says Remembrance Day is an important opportunity to remember what our nation has sacrificed for democracy. If the nation can stop to watch the Melbourne Cup, then we can certainly stop for one minute’s silence at 11 am on November 11 to remember those brave Australian men and women who have fought and died for the freedoms we so often take for granted,â€
Mr Scott said. We must also spare a thought for our brave diggers who are currently overseas, serving in peacekeeping roles, and helping to bring democracy to other nations.â€
Mr Scott is also encouraging people to wear a red poppy on Remembrance Day, as a silent tribute to our past and present diggers.
