The TARMAC/Space Pilots Club’s last model rocket launch for this year is on today (Sat Nov 20) from 1.30pm.
It’s free to come along and be enthralled as the model rockets soar high into the atmosphere. The countdown will be on time and time again as several dozen well crafted rocket models leave the launch pad at half the speed of sound, amid plumes of smoke.
Most of the rockets have been lovingly made by members of the Rangeville Space Pilots’ Club – some are two-stage rockets, others may have gliders attached.
You’re invited to come along and enjoy the spectacle…but it is suggested you bring a folding chair or other seating. Amenities and canteen on site.
The location is the model flying field, TARMAC, approximately 10kms south of Toowoomba along the New England Highway, just past “The Mill Outlook”. Look for the windsock on the right.
