Basketball Begins in Toowoomba For 2012 Season

Venue: St Marys Clive Berghofer Arena – Herries Street, Toowoomba

Following a very successful muster Toowoomba Basketball Patrons Cup will commence on Monday 27th February with A Grade Men and Women and A Reserve Men being played on Monday nights, and B and C Grade Men and mixed played on Wednesday nights.

The association is making an effort to lift the standard of A Grade by limiting the teams to one each from each of the four Clubs – All Stars, Eagles, Saints and USQ.

The mens’ competition is expected to be very strong with huge interest generated from last years revitalized Mountaineer and DLeague performances. The womens’ competition will struggle this Patrons Cup but the call is out for more players to return to the game on the back of the Mountaineers recruiting two imports this year (which should do a lot for the womens confidence and interest in basketball}.

Any individual wishing to play basketball but not yet in a team is welcome to attend continuing musters next week.

Trial games will continue on:

MONDAY 15th for A Reserve men teams at 6.00pm, A Women at 7.00pm and A grade Men at 8.00pm,
and
WEDNESDAY 22nd for B Grade men at 6.00pm and 7.00 pm for C Grade Men and Mixed.
